Soft Bits for se7ens have a rather unique business. Se7ens in this case are Caterham's - the small sports cars you can assemble yourself - and the soft bits are the hoods.
Partly because you can assemble them yourselves but mainly because of the myriad of options you can install, creating a hood to fit these cars mean many different suppliers supplying many different materials to create a few products in many different variants.
Tracking all this information and ensuring the correct hood is made for the correct car and customer needed a bespoke application.
We consulted closely with Soft Bits For Se7ens to ensure we had mapped the system out correctly and then developed and delivered an application that exactly matched their business. We continue to support Soft Bits for Se7ens and are now in the process of creating an ecommerce system that directly integrates with their application to ensure the correct product is always ordered and materials are always in stock.
I knew a database would be a good idea to keep track of orders and paper work which was becoming a nightmare, spending more time looking up orders and estimating delivery than doing the work.
After hours trying to understand downloadable systems I was on the edge of giving up and contacted 360ss to see what they suggested. A meeting was arranged and I took along some scribbling on an A3 sheet of paper. The system was broken down in to several separate areas and prices quoted for an expandable database.
I now have a system that is beyond my expectations. It is easy to use and a vital part of the company.
I have plans in place for a full e-commerce site with 360ss and I’m confident they are the people for our software solutions.
